Do you wear a mask? In reality, we all wear a mask or sometimes we wear several in a day. These masks often change depending on the environment that we are in. At work we are a different person than we are with our friends or family. We have so many masks that when we take these masks off at the end of the day, we just do not really know who we are. We do not know which mask is the one that we wear when we are alone at home because we do not really know who we really are. That is a problem that we really need to face.

Finding your true identity is arguably one of the most difficult tasks that you will ever have to deal with. Discovering your identity is the first step to everything else in life. Identity is the combination of our belief system and our personalities. How you can expand your identity will be the important factor of the transformations that you want to make in your life. If you build a new and empowering belief system, you will be able to make an incredible transformation in life. This can be so important because this is what you need to get to the places that you want to be in life.

You know that identity is essential to how you live your life, but you may not be able to fully understand what identity is. There are a lot of important aspects of identity. Identity is really what will ultimately determine our actions. Behaviors do not determine who we are or how we act; identity determines our behavior. This is a distinction that can be very confusing for some and they feel as though they can use their behaviors as an excuse for their actions. Behaviors that are negative are nothing more than just lapses in your personality, they are not who you are. You do need to take responsibility for your actions because only then will you restore your true identity. Your identity is not the sum of these dark moments of depression or anxiety. In reality, your true identity is what will help you to overcome these issues.

As a person, you need to know who you truly are. You would think that learning your true identity would be all that you need to do but this is only half of the battle. Once you uncover your true identity, you will need to learn how to be yourself. This is the only way we were meant to live, and by doing otherwise, you are doing a disservice to yourself. This is what leads to negative emotions like stress and frustration. You should also remember that once you realize who you are and learn how to be yourself, you have to understand that we are always evolving. We need to grow and reinvent ourselves because this is what we need to do so that we can accomplish our dreams. (To book a free session with CPC Life Coach, Scott Epp or Greg Beech, click here.)
