Do You Need to see Tangible Results in Life? Do you Need Focus?
Jul 06, 2015Do You Need to see Tangible Results in Life? Do you Need Focus?
When we are busy, time can just fly by. Before we know it, we have lived another month or year or even decade, but we are not closer to the things we thought we wanted. The ideas are there, but we keep pushing them off for later. However, some part of us always knows that we need to focus and achieve tangible results.
Why Do we Need Focus?
Most of us tend to have a pretty well-established routine. We got to work, we take the same route every day, and we eat similar things, go to the movies on the weekend and so on. In general, we repeat many similar actions daily until they become almost automatic.
When something becomes automatic, that means that it becomes easier to do and requires less energy. Our brain doesn’t need to come up with new ways to do things, so it enters what we may call an “energy-saving” mode. If we do the same things every day, these days pass by awfully fast, because of this.
This means that in order to introduce something new to our lives and get our brains working, we need to focus. We need to make a conscious effort to devote our time to something we want, whether it is a hobby or our business.
There are a lot of distractions on the way to focus. It’s easier not to do something, than to do it, obviously, so sometimes the principle of least effort wins over our best intentions. Some people are able to overcome through effort and find the willpower to focus on what they want. Other needs a little help along the way.
Michael was a coach who used hypnosis and was quite successful. However, he wanted to see tangible results in his life. For him, help came in the form of coaching also. Here is what he has to say about his coaching experience: “One thing is talking the talk and another walking the walk. What’s great about coaching is that it keeps that focus, it keeps you accountable.”
Coaching can give a little extra help in committing to your goals and remaining focused.
What about Tangible Results?
The best way to see if you’re achieving something is to set clear goals. This way, you have an objective to achieve and you can know when you have reached it. “I want to lose weight” is not a clear objective. “I want to lose 3 pounds” is a set goal.
However, your goals also need to be realistic. If you decide to build a successful business in a week, you will probably not succeed. This failure due to a goal that was too big can affect your motivation and confidence; make you less likely to try again. However, there is no reason why you couldn’t have achieved such a big goal in a longer period of time.
In order to stay motivated, we need to receive feedback depending on what we do. If we only find what we accomplished a month later, it’s likely that our motivation and enthusiasm will dwindle. This is why we need to set smaller goals that work as steps to reach the bigger goal.
For instance, if your goal is to open a business, you can start by building a business plan, then by starting a website and so on. Each small goal is a step towards the big goal, but is also an achievement in itself.
However, keeping the motivation alive and finding a plan that can lead to tangible results is not an easy feat. Coaching can become a great asset in that respect. Here what Michael has to say from his experience: “With Scott, what I’ve noticed is that it’s really tangible, you can actually see the results?” Watch the full testimonial video by Michael below –
Coaching provides an additional source of support and motivation. It helps you remain focused and step out of the automatism of a routine to implement the change that you want to see realized in your life. In conclusion, life coaching in Sydney can help you find more focus in your life, to maintain that focus as you follow your goals and to achieve real tangible results.
